Wednesday 9th November 2012
Irchester United 0-3 Wellingborough Town (Ash Newman, Jack Harvey, Jack Plummer)
Team: Michael Brimah, Kaise John-Lewis (Jack Whitlock 80), Charlie Ware, Harry Ward, Pawel Aurzadniczek, Jack Plummer, Jack Harvey, Taj Jones, Harry Ware, Ash Newman (Tyler Maher 70), Lamar Brownbill (Luqman Said – Abdulan). Unused Subs : Luke Greer
A lively start from Wellingborough Town who went ahead early after Newman was tripped in the box. Newman stepped up and converted the penalty. Wellingborough then struggled a bit with the soft pitch, failing to find their passing range and slipping. A great save from Brimah diving high to his right kept Wellingborough in the game.
0-1 Half Time.
Wellingborough Town started the second half better than they finished the first. A fantastic strike from Harvey lobbed the lobbed Irchester keeper to give Wellingborough a 2-0 lead.
Wellingborough started to relax with the lead and found a better range of passing, looking more comfortable on the ball and penetrating more effectively in the final third.
I missed the final goal but rumour has it that it was a 40 yard strike from Plummer.
